- ▲ Ní thuigeann an sách an seang.
- Harry and a few of his allies have formed a group of shardbearers and natives called 'The Lean Ones'. They are devoted to helping the natives of the Drabwurld endure the current war and if they manage to give the Seelie some grief, all the better.
They take their name from the Drabbish proverb "Ní thuigeann an sách an seang" which roughly means that those who're well-fed cannot understand the plight of the hungry. Their banner and symbol is of a white and a black feather on a blue background.
Accepting this quest means going out into the Drabwurld and earning the trust of one moderately influential native. Go forth, find out what they're interested in, what their concerns are, if they are willing to support action, and if not, what do they want in return for their support.
- ▹ QUEST OBJECTIVE & METRIC: This is a One Star quest, requiring 1.5k words of prose. No NPCing is necessary; however, if you accept this quest, you're welcome to ask for a brief, OOC dossier for a native.
This can segue into a Two Star quest, requiring 3K words of prose, if you choose to complete whatever task the native character has asked. While you are welcome to invent your own NPC and run with it, an NPC-given assignment (as well as an OOC dossier with ideas) are available upon request.
- ▹ QUEST REWARD: Characters who complete the one star quest are welcome to request any small bit of magic from Harry. e.g. a portkey that can be used once a day or a disillusionment cloak. Characters who complete the two star quest can request a magical item from Harry and will be granted a small trinket or piece of information that suits their NPC's abilities and interests.

Please, be aware that these are NPCs with some clout in the world and there may be unintended and negative consequences if your character is not subtle in their research.
- ▹ QUEST REWARD: Characters who complete this quest are welcome to request any small bit of magic from Harry. e.g. a portkey that can be used once a day or a disillusionment cloak. - Mair has fallen to the Seelie and while we cannot win it back at the moment, we can make their lives difficult. A group of Unseelie shardbearers recently brought down the main garrison and made off with a great deal of their supplies.
The Lean Ones and their allies want to continue to trend: accepting his quest means that one to three characters will meet with either an NPC or Harry, receive a specific mission tailored to their skills and then be set loose on the city. Characters will also receive some magical preparation and a way to mark out that The Lean Ones are responsible for their actions.
- ▹ QUEST OBJECTIVE & METRIC: This is a Two Star quest, requiring 3k words of prose. No NPCing is necessary; however, if you accept this quest, you're welcome to ask for a brief, OOC dossier for a native.

Quest & NPC Dossier: Balem
Appearance: Sopdet possesses a red-skinned humanoid body with a scarab like beetle for a head. She cannot speak aloud, but communicates via chemical scents and a sign-language enacted through the motions of her head-legs. She wears a heavy golden torc that magically translates these gestures into spoken language.
Traits, Skills, and Habits:
- She is clever and well aware of her own cleverness.
- She can be haughty, but that may also just be that she has exceedingly high standards and few ever meet up to them.
- Her hearing is not very good, and she has a real dislike of people gauche enough to talk poorly about her where she can hear it. Of course they're going to call her names and curse her behind her back, but half-hidden is just tacky.
Quest Details: Before entrusting Balem with her actual interests, she wants to him to prove his worth by accompanying her to a gathering of wealthy individuals. He has to behave himself in public, make appropriate small talk, and most importantly of all: at the end of the evening, report back to her with any good information, gossip, or blackmail worthy material. Get her the goods and she'll return the favour.
Quest & NPC Dossier: Johnny
Appearance: Shenko is a short, round human(?) that's usually found in a mustard-stained cardigan in dire need of a wash, several patches, and possibly a fumigation. To put it bluntly, he stinks.
Traits, Skills, and Habits:
- He's terrible with names, but brilliant with property. Give him a manifest and Shenko knows who owns what and who'll want to bid on it.
- He'll profess to be a thinker (...or a lover…) and not a fighter, but he has a few very nasty tricks as a last resort. A very small, very well hidden shiv that will curse with a scratch.
- He mumbles. Hence the name.
Quest Details: He may be vile, but he's a brilliant middleman when it comes to moving goods from Seelie controlled areas to anywhere else. He lives in his head and usually has a handler to take care of the more day-to-day aspects of a smuggling business, but for various reasons, that handler isn't available at the moment. Johnny needs to step up, step in, and play bodyguard - Shenko needs to get into a certain warehouse, examine what's inside, and then liberate it. Should Johnny want the assistance, two NPC mercenaries are available to help him.
Quest & NPC Dossier: Porthos
Appearance: Once a moderately handsome young man, Almos has clearly suffered some form of great, magical tragedy. His face is horribly disfigured and he has a great difficulty speaking. Almos is quiet, sincere, and believes in the value of a hard day's work.
Quest Details: It's a two day ride to the small farming village of Riverbend. Almos escaped one afternoon and made his way to Caer Scima to find and petition a shardbearer for help in his home village. His story is that a wealthy, newly retired Seelie soldier bought land and settled in the area, and while no one was too happy about a new landowner, it wasn't all bad at first. Then, a few months later, the soldier began to use a creature in his possession to control the people there and set himself up as a petty dictator.
This soldier, Seoririn, has a dream-eater. This beast consumes the dreams of the sleeping and then can take those dreams and make them real. Almos explains that this is what happened to him - after all, who hasn't had a dream that their face was melted and ruined? He spoke out against Seoririn and was punished.
Riverbend is too close to Seelie territory for Harry to safely go there himself, and so he's asking Porthos to go, kill the dream-eater, and free the people of the town. To help him on his quest, Harry will provide a small flask of dreamless sleep potion - just enough for a couple days. The beast's powers are strongest when using one's own dreams on a person, but it can take another's thoughts and apply them with less lasting damage.
Quest & NPC Dossier: Katsa
Description: The target is tall with pale gold and white skin that looks more like marble than flesh. His eyes are an unsettling clear white-blue with square pupils like a deer. While not exact, this is a good feel for his look.
He moves smoothly, graceful, and in a way that visibly non-human. If asked, he will say he is an angel. This may or may not be true. He was clearly in charge of the others, or at least they deferred to him, and when they divided up the chattels, he took the best of everything.
Location: The memories that Harry rifled through suggest that he occasionally visits Mair, and the slave market/compound along the Astra river. He did recognize that there's some sort of private estate on the outskirts of Treun, but he can't swear that's where the Angel can be found.
Quest: Harry would like Katsa to find him and his places of power, gather information on his people, but do not engage. Once you're ready to start writing, PM me with a roll out of 1 to 6 and depending on your number, I'll fling extra OOC details that she might learn.
Quest & NPC Dossier: Thrall
Description: The target is of average height with pale fur that once had been a rich, deep orange-red, but has faded to blonde and grey with age. She looks rather like this and is usually found in practical armour. She moves with a brash, gregarious confidence.
Location: Usually in or around the training camp on the shores of the Astra.
Quest: Harry would like Thrall to find out her places of power, gather information on her people, trade routes, etc. However, he would prefer that Thrall does not actively engage. Once you're ready to start writing, PM me with a roll out of 1 to 6 and depending on your number, I'll fling extra OOC details that he might learn.
